
The Venom HC AAA U18 Program is thrilled to announce the hiring of Dawson Travis as our new Assistant Coach and Program Director. Dawson brings an impressive wealth of experience and knowledge to our team, and we are confident that his leadership will play a crucial role in our success this season.
Dawson has an extensive background in coaching, having previously worked with the FV U18 Aces, CMHA U18 A3, and the Spring Jr. Jets U15. His deep understanding of the game, combined with his ability to develop and motivate young athletes, makes him an invaluable addition to our coaching staff.
With over 12 years of top-tier AAA hockey experience, Dawson has honed his leadership skills both on and off the ice. As a player, he captained multiple A1 teams and competed in the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) with the Abbotsford Pilots. His firsthand experience in high-level hockey gives him unique insights that will greatly benefit our athletes.
In addition to his role as Assistant Coach, Dawson will serve as the Program Director, overseeing the development and direction of the Venom HC AAA U18 Program. His leadership and vision will help shape the program’s growth, ensuring players receive top-tier training, mentorship, and opportunities to excel at the highest level.
One of Dawson’s key strengths lies in his knowledge of special teams, particularly the power play. His expertise in this area will be instrumental in maximizing our team’s scoring opportunities and achieving a high conversion rate. His strategic approach and attention to detail will provide our players with the tools they need to excel in high-pressure situations.
Born and raised in Cloverdale and Chilliwack, Dawson has a strong connection to the local hockey community. His passion for the game and dedication to player development align perfectly with the Venom HC AAA U18 Program’s mission of fostering excellence both on and off the ice.
